Golden Eagles Claim Three District Titles in Dominant Weekend

It was a banner weekend for GlenOak Athletics as the Golden Eagles brought home three district championships across two sports, showcasing the depth and talent of our student-athletes.

On Friday, May 23, both the boys and girls track & field teams captured district titles while competing at Hoover High School. The victories are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our athletes and coaching staff throughout the season. Numerous athletes delivered standout performances to help secure the team wins and have now qualified for the OHSAA Regional Championships, which will be held at Austintown Fitch High School on Wednesday, May 28 and Friday, May 30. The Golden Eagles will be well represented as they look to continue their postseason success and earn spots at the OHSAA State Championships.

Adding to the weekend’s success, on Saturday, May 24, the boys tennis doubles team of Jack Slay and Dylan Wiles captured the district championship at Springside Athletic Club in Akron. The duo went undefeated, winning four straight matches over two days against top competition. Their impressive run secured a place at the OHSAA State Tournament, which will take place this Thursday and Friday at the College of Wooster.
